I call it the "magic frog place"

they're putting out a chapbook
fittingly titled "read some words"
it has complicated cover art, think it was "graphic designed"
by an "up and coming graphic designer"

As you'll note on the magic frog website, Ms. Jillian Clark has a lovely new sequence of poems. Check it out! I'd give you a sample, but it would have been the last half of the last poem, and would have ruined the whole thing. So go read it!

From what I've gleaned from the internet, Jillian Clark is a better poet than I was when I was 17, has a fondness for collaborative projects, and references Frank O'Hara, which is neat. She also wrote a one-line poem about my relationship to pudding.

In other news, I saw Alien for the first time. It was great.

I am working on a remix of Kristen Shaw's "We Are Only Bodies"
yeah the whole darn thing
I've never set a deadline for myself before
it will be next monday

which incidentally is when my piece on Pangur Ban Party gets posted
it's called "If Kanye West can say 'I am Rap' then I want to say 'I am Rainbow'"

I don't get it either but the color scheme will be both droll and colorful
I thought I would do a double release because that makes me feel productive

1. The "Big Picture"

I'd prefer hothouse for greenhouse,

red sand cube grooved with jazz and bricks
and dust.

I'm storing the tanks and bullets
in a glass jar with earth

and sea at the bottom,

and a horse wearing 3D specs, trying
to look through.

2. From the outside

The underwater horse still looks green
and horsey splashing around

That green horse seen underwater looks horsey
even if it's splashing and shit

That horse looks horsey after all that water

Horsey horsey horsey...

Horsey is lost at sea
because there is more water than anything else.

3. From the inside

It seems all horses are leather bags
filled with wood, cotton balls, swirls of foam
and metal gears that mysteriously work.

But in parentheses,
black streaks of clouds
when you look too fast

and sneakers crashing lightning storms
into the sky

and digital twinkles for his girlfriend,

and a computer program will make
mosquitos and horses and pigs
pop and lock to Chaka Khan's "I'm Every Woman,"

three or four or several pigeons were using the old couch
to live in

there were twigs and old national geographics
and cigarette butts and bird shit everywhere

there was also an old lemon tree from the previous tenant
it had never made it past a few days
and now the branches are all snapped off

we use it for an ashtray

it had been weeks
of stepping out for a smoke
and being startled by birds taking flight

and I was just getting used
to being startled

then they took the sofa away

and hosed down the floor
and cleaned out the lemon tree ashtray

so now there aren't

any birds
any more.

this poem will begin as the greatest journy
(i get the tea boiling, this is pretty old-fashioned)
I'm wondering if I should get the y-key fixed on my laptop
because it's broken and I have to write a paper
and I like to feel like the next paper I write
will be the greatest paper in the world.

This poem will make for a terrific prose poem
as soon as I decide whether to write about something
'specific'
or if I just wind up writing as I always do,
connecting random image after image.

clipclopping down the streets of paris on his horse
he went shopping for groceries, touching the produce
and squeezing the meats, passing by Summer's Eve and KY
without a thought, starting to get cold in the warehouse
and zipping up his sweatshirt, wondering if he'll run into somebody.

The tea hasn't quite started boiling yet,

I finally applied for summer work.

ready to be wished or dropped. I fought so hard to keep you
alive, hoped that 'the best' would happen while I drove my fist
like a stake into your spirit. I was worried you'd be warped
by the fog of voices that surrounded your clothes and ass
and page numbers, arrows pointing toward a crown of light.
A pack of cigarettes sat on the table like geometrical plans
for a building, shaping light, maybe a vagina-shaped galaxy
or a tree with roots in central asia blossoming in the empire
state building on certain days of the year.
